Sweet Potato Chaat Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups boiled sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 large tomato, finely chopped
- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
- 1 tablespoon flax seeds
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons black raisins
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Juice of 1 lemon
For Garnish:
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Sev (crispy chickpea flour noodles)
Instructions:
- Prepare Sweet Potatoes:
- Boil the sweet potatoes until they are tender but still firm. Peel and dice them into bite-sized pieces.
- Chop Vegetables:
- Finely chop the onion and tomato.
- Wash and chop the spinach.
- Toast Seeds:
- In a dry pan, toast the sunflower seeds, flax seeds, and sesame seeds until they are lightly browned and fragrant. Stir frequently to prevent burning. Once done, set them aside.
- Assemble Chaat:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the boiled sweet potatoes, chopped onion, chopped tomato, and spinach.
- Add the toasted sunflower seeds, flax seeds, and sesame seeds.
- Toss in the black raisins.
- Seasoning:
- Season the chaat with salt and black pepper according to your taste.
- Squeeze Lemon:
- Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the chaat. Adjust the amount based on your preference for tanginess.
- Mix Well:
- Gently toss all the ingredients together until well combined. Be careful not to mash the sweet potatoes.
- Garnish:
- Garnish the sweet potato chaat with fresh coriander leaves and a handful of sev for added crunch.
- Serve:
- Serve the sweet potato chaat immediately as a delicious and nutritious snack or side dish.
