Twisted Pina colada

Make this delicious and simple coconut and pineapple drink, the flavour mimics that of a pina colada, but minus the extra calories and your kids will love you for it!

Pineapples are actually quite low in calories and if you want to lose extra belly fat then this drink will be a great help to you! Also pineapples contains high amounts of antioxidants, fibre, vitamin C, and manganese, which is important for proper brain and nerve function. It also has thiamin, a water-soluble B vitamin that helps cells change carbs into energy. Finally, fresh pineapple is well known anti-inflammatory fruit, as it contains bromelain, a protein-digesting enzyme that helps reduce inflammation in the body.

Coconut water – It’s full of essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamins C and E, potassium, iron, selenium, sodium, magnesium, and phosphorus. Its water is high in electrolytes, which help keep the body properly hydrated, while the fat from it is an excellent source of healthy fat that helps give HDL – the ‘good’ cholesterol – a boost.

Ingredients
* 1 cup fresh pineapples
* 120 ml pure coconut water
* 1/2 teaspoon ginger
* 1 teaspoon honey (If your pineapple is sweet enough, you won’t need to add honey)
* 1 tablespoon chia seeds

Combine the above ingredients in a blender. Add more coconut water or pineapple for proper consistency.
